Improve Firefox Performance

Category: Technology, Web Design, Web Development

Reading the latest edition of my .Net Magazine and came across this useful Firefox performance tweak:

1) Open Firefox and type About:Config into the address box and click Enter
2) Right-click anywhere on the screen and choose New>Integer

3) A dialogue box appears asking you to enter a preference name. Type in:

browser.cache.memory.capacity

4) Click Ok. Another dialogue box appears. Now this is where you can adjust the amount of RAM Firefox uses for its cache, and different amounts will work for different computers. Enter the value in KB (1MB = 1,024KB). For example:

512MB RAM = 14,000 KB

1GB RAM = 18,000 KB
