The New NIN Album and Artwork

Thursday, March 6th, 2008

Nine Inch Nails announced they are offering their new album for immediate download.

I’ve listened to the album once so far, and it’s a great collection of ambient, instrumental tracks. But, what really caught my attention was the associated artwork.

Move your itunes Library to an External Drive

Friday, February 23rd, 2007

This past week I bought an external 250 GB USB hard disk drive. Main reason was to backup the five years worth of photos on my PC. Second reason was to share music between my PC and laptop.

Turns out that sharing music is a complete pain in the %^$# when it comes to iTunes. Seems like they are making it as hard as possible for anyone to share music. Ever. Even if it happens to be your own music collection amoung your own PCs.

Anyway, just saw this article appear over at Life Hacker. Looks like this might be the solution.

I’ll be trying this out myself at some point this weekend…

Love the New Beatles Album!

Tuesday, February 13th, 2007

Apologies for the title.

Anyway, the new album by The Beatles, called “Love” is fantastic.

And it comes from one of my other favourite things. Las Vegas!

Apparently, George Harrison remixed the original Beatles tapes so they could be used in the new Cirque du Soleil show being shown in Vegas. My wife and I were there a couple years ago and we saw one of their shows. It was great. Really like nothing I had seen before.

Anyway, as a long time Beatles listener, you would think it would be hard to make the songs sound fresh again. But this album does just that in 26 tracks that play like a soundtrack.

Excellent stuff.
