Search Engine Optimisation Thanks to Wordpress and Permalinks

Monday, March 5th, 2007

The first thing I did after creating this site a few months ago was install Google Analytics. I’ve already spoken about what a great service they provide. Anyway, after messing about in Analytics, I found the feature for viewing “keywords”.

Google Webmaster Central

Friday, February 9th, 2007

Is there nothing Google can’t do??!!

Seems like I find a new, useful feature on Google’s site each day.

Today I’ve come across Google Webmaster Central. This has various tools for showing you how Google indexes your website.

Anyone can enter a URL, but to see the more detailed statistics, you have to verify that you are indeed the webmaster. This can be done instantaneously by uploading a small file or adding a meta tag.

Also, I’ve come across Matt Cutts blog. He a software engineer at Google and his blog has tons of great info.

Google Analytics - I am Addicted!

Wednesday, January 31st, 2007

So I’ve been using Google Analytics for a few days now - since the launch of Cherry Street - and have to say that it’s fantastic. Especially for a free service.

For those who don’t now, this service allows you to analyse the visits to your web site in a hundred different ways. It has endless charts and graphs showing everything from the location of your visitors to their monitor screen size!

Have to say, I’m finding it quite addictive. After spending so much time designing Cherry Street, it’s nice to sit back and watch how people use the site.

Anyway, here’s some cool examples from Cherry Street visitors:
