Last night, had the chance to attend the Future of Web Apps Road Trip event here in Edinburgh. Future of Web Apps in an annual conference that I’ll be attending down in London this year.

It was great to meet up with “web people” in the Edinburgh area. We need more of these local events!

This past Friday, I spent the afternoon at an Adobe sponsored event to showcase their latest design suite. Basically, it was a 3 hour marketing event, but it was cool to see the new features and there are definitely some interesting new bits.

Just a quick note to say that a new version of WordPress has been released.

I skipped over the last version but think I’ll definitely upgrade this time. Interested to see the new features such as “WordPress Widgets” and the promise of “speed optimizations”.

Adobe has this great site for viewing videos related to their entire product suite.

I’m about to upgrade to their latest version of Dreamweaver and Fireworks, so it’s the perfect place to check out all the new features in their CS3 suite.

It’s amazing how much of a monopoly Adobe has now acquired in the web design field. With their purchase of Macromedia, they pretty much have it all now. Just hope their products continue to impress and don’t slip due to the lack of competition.
